2. Minutes of Meeting of 7th February 2022 were approved.

3. Treasurer’s Report. MP reported bank balance was £1743-47.

4. To consider progress in regard to following main issues

a. Progress with gaining SC Planning Application Consultee status for all four parishes. Awaiting news from SC Cllr Nigel Lumby.

b. Tree root damage to pavement outside Estate Agent. PW reported that he has spoken to A P Cllr Bob Watson (Tree Warden) who is now following up with SC.

c. State of roads especially pot holes in High St, the depression in Station Rd and the very bad surface in Cross Road – request for SC officers to meet us on site. PW reported no response re a site meeting with SC but that SC Cllr Nigel Lumby is following up with SC.

d. Consideration of the advantages and disadvantages of charitable status for ADCS. Committee accepted PW’s recommendation that we do not join Civic Voice as their fees are higher than our subscriptions and also not to seek charitable status.

e. Possible ADCS Annual Calendar Project. ACTION: ALL to take photos of landmarks so we can select the best ones.

f. ‘Welcome Pack’, MP reported that with help from GR two pages of the List of Clubs/Societies contacts have been updated and when Shaun is well enough he will update the website version - hopefully before the packs are distributed. ACTION: RS to prepare two pages with information about the Society including a tear-off subscription slip. Also the 2 page December article will be expanded and included.

5. Matters arising

a. Graffiti on the door of the now closed TSB building (26 High Street, Albrighton WV7 3JE) and the adjacent wall of Rumbles Chip Shop (No. 25?).

Committee noted thanks were due to the owner and tenant of Rumbles who had painted over the graffiti within a week of us bringing it to their attention - well done Rumbles. No response from owner of the ex-Bank but it was noted that the building is to be sold by auction within weeks.

b. Fayre Day (9th July)

RS reported that the Fayre committee is only five people so far and more help is needed. RS reported that he has gained agreement from the Air Ambulance Charity for them to provide their demonstration Helipod and Critical Care Car at a pitch in the High St. and that they will fly the operational helicopter low along the High St at the start of the parade (subject to not being on a call-out).

ACTION: PW will ask John Bulmer if he is able to provide any plants for the Society to sell.

d. Planting at the Approach Rd to the Station (end of embankment between Station Rd and the Station Approach Rd.)

It was reported that Friends of the Station’s new planting incorporated garden tiers supported by  timber sleepers has been completed. Unfortunately pedestrians are now walking over this area as short cut from Station Rd to the Station by using the tiers as steps and damaging the plants. The “Friends” are now considering placing signs to warn against this.

6. Any Other Business

a. RS reported that sample cores of the road surface of Cross Rd have been taken by SC’s subcontractor who said that this is in preparation for re-surfacing Cross Rd from the High St up to the 40 mph signs but not beyond ie not from the 40mpph sign up to the A464 - which is in a very bad condition.

b. PI reported that he has asked APC to request SC to remove the weeds and clean up the area of road and footpath at the junction of Station Rd and A41
